Frederick Courtney Selous (1851–1917)
Major Frederick Selous was a famed British explorer and big-game hunter whose African exploits in the late 19th and early 20th centuries made him legendary. He was known for his knowledge of bushcraft and game and later served and died in World War I; he also accompanied Roosevelt’s 1909–1910 safari.
